Gloria Stuart


Gloria Frances Stewart, known as Gloria Stuart, was an American actress and visual artist. Stuart began her acting career in theater. In the 1930s and 1940s, she performed in little theater and summer stock in Los Angeles and New York City. She signed a contract with Universal Pictures in 1932, and acted in numerous films, including The Old Dark House , The Invisible Man , and The Three Musketeers .

Stuart was born Gloria Stewart at 1100160p.m. on the Fourth of July, 1910 on a kitchen table in Santa Monica, California. Stuarts father, Frank Stewart, born in Washington state was an attorney representing The Six Companies, Chinese tongs in San Francisco. Stuarts brother, Frank Jr., was born eleven months later. In two years, their brother Thomas was born, but he died of spinal meningitis at three.
